AskTommi Parent Terms of Service

1. Overview

These Terms govern use of AskTommi by parents, guardians, and authorised adult account holders.

AskTommi is an AI-assisted educational support platform for children. Parents create and manage child accounts and control platform access, subscriptions, and settings.

By creating an account, using the platform, or activating a trial or subscription, you agree to these Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must:

  • be at least 18 years old;
  • be legally capable of entering contracts;
  • supervise all child access under your account.

Child accounts may only be created and managed by a parent or authorised guardian.

3. Parent Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • maintaining the security and confidentiality of your account credentials;
  • ensuring children using the platform do so in accordance with these Terms;
  • monitoring child usage and evaluating the suitability of generated responses;
  • promptly notifying us of any unauthorised account access.

4. Educational / AI Limitations

AskTommi provides AI-assisted educational support only.

AskTommi:

  • is not a substitute for teachers, schools, tutors, or professional educators;
  • may generate inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated responses;
  • must not be relied upon for medical, legal, psychological, or safety-critical advice.

Parents remain responsible for supervising children and evaluating the suitability of generated responses.

5. Child Safety & Moderation

AskTommi uses automated moderation and safety systems.

We may:

  • block or refuse prompts;
  • suspend or restrict access;
  • automatically classify interactions;
  • apply usage limits or safety controls.

Parents acknowledge that moderation systems may not detect all unsafe content.

6. Parent/Child Privacy Model

Parents control:

  • subscriptions;
  • billing;
  • child account lifecycle;
  • permissions and settings.

Parents do not receive raw child chat transcripts through the platform. AskTommi may provide aggregated insights, learning metrics, and behavioural summaries without exposing full conversations.

Use of AskTommi is also governed by the Privacy Policy.

7. Acceptable Use

You must not:

  • attempt to bypass moderation or safety systems;
  • use the service unlawfully;
  • submit harmful, abusive, or exploitative content;
  • reverse engineer or misuse the platform;
  • share account access outside your household without permission.

8. Subscriptions & Billing

AskTommi offers subscription-based access. Subscriptions may include monthly plans, annual plans, trials, and promotional offers.

Pricing may vary by region, currency, promotional eligibility, and subscription tier. Applicable taxes may be included or added separately depending on jurisdiction.

Payments are processed by third-party billing providers including Stripe. AskTommi does not store full payment card details.

Subscription changes (upgrades, downgrades, seat changes) may apply immediately or at the next billing cycle, and may generate prorated charges or credits.

We may retry failed payments, suspend access, reduce functionality, and terminate subscriptions for non-payment.

Except where required by law, subscription payments are generally non-refundable and partial billing periods may not be refunded.

9. Trials

Trial access may have usage limits, restrict child account counts, and expire automatically. Trials may convert into paid subscriptions if not cancelled before expiry.

10. Renewals & Cancellation

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.

Parents may cancel subscriptions at any time through account settings. Cancellation prevents future renewals but does not necessarily generate immediate refunds.

We may change pricing or billing structures with reasonable notice.

11. Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts for Terms violations, misuse, payment failures, safety concerns, or unlawful conduct.

12. Intellectual Property

All platform software, branding, designs, and systems remain the property of AskTommi or its licensors. Users retain ownership of content they submit, subject to rights required for platform operation.

13. Liability Limitations

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AskTommi is provided "as is". We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we are not liable for indirect, consequential, educational, reputational, or financial losses.

14. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights that cannot be excluded or limited under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation, including non-excludable guarantees under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Material changes may require renewed acceptance before continued platform access. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
